The other month I had this mean stomach ache. I had just gotten back from vacation and so I think my stomach was "Re-adjusting" to the less organic food I usually eat here. I had lunch with a co-worker and she saw me doubled up in pain a few times and had suggested Apple cider vinegar in my water to ease my symptoms.
By the way I will be putting up a post about this preventative source of knowledge as well REAL SOON. Believe that! lol Look out for it!
Anyways I ran into that same co worker in the bathroom a few days later and thanked her for her helpful tip. She proceeded to tell me about how she is a firm believer in and loves preventative medicine and she avoids medication if she can then she said "Like Echinacea, I feel a tingle in my throat and I just pop one pill and just like that...It's all about prevention" I smiled and nodded lol i think I might have even given her a fist pump as if to say "Guurrl you know about that too?" But I had no idea what she was talking about. So what did I do? I googled it of course!
Echinacea is an herbal medicine known for it's ability to fight the common cold as well as possibly boosting the immune system. Interesting I thought, well actually at first I thought "Hey! I've seen those flowers before, who knew!" and then I forgot all about it until I started experiencing cold/flu like symptoms.
I ran to the drug store and purchased a bottle, it was quite pricey I must add, it was like $30 for 30 pills. However following my research, the advice of the pharmacist and my experience with it, I have to say that it was the best $30 I could have spent.
